Branch Activities
From lively seisiúns and dance workshops to music instruction, our ceili band and Irish language classes, the branch keeps the tradition alive across Greater Boston all year round.
Music & dancing
Monthly Seisiún
Our seisiúns bring the community together for traditional Irish music and dance — great music for set, ceili, old-time waltz and other dancing. They run from October through June at the Canadian-American Hall, 202 Arlington Street, Watertown, Massachusetts.
Coffee, tea and breads are served, and members enjoy a discounted admission. Seisiúns are held semi-monthly — typically the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 3–7 PM, September through May — so check the calendar for the exact dates.

Learn to dance
Tuesday Night Dance Workshops
Our dance workshops run from October through May, on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM at the Canadian-American Hall in Watertown. All are welcome, whether you are learning your first steps or brushing up on set and ceili favourites.
The workshops are taught by Barbara Boyd, successor to the late Sally Harney. Barbara was Sally's student and began at the Tuesday class in the 1980s. She also serves tea at branch ceilis and is the branch Membership Coordinator.

Learn the tradition
Traditional Irish Music Instruction
Through the CCÉ Boston Music School, students of all ages learn traditional Irish music from a world-class faculty. Classes cover fiddle, flute, tin whistle, button accordion, guitar, bodhrán, harp, tenor banjo, mandolin, singing, concertina and uilleann pipes.
Online classes are held on Saturday mornings during the school year.
